Cape Horners Fuegian under the sun! New

Position: 55 ° 49'S 67 ° 17'W

Hello!

We are quietly anchored in Caleta Martial, quiet little anchorage a few miles of the mythical Cape Horn, we just work around the end of the afternoon for a nice breeze. We can say that we are lucky because the weather was perfect today to greet the great Cape.

left early this morning from Puerto Toro, the southernmost village of the world, we sailed under mainsail reefed, staysail and jib a bit, depending on the grain, leaving in our wake quickly Lennox and Navarino islands and prancing merrily in Nassau Bay.

A nice navigation, fast enough for allowing us to do a complete Horn Island, a luxury we can not offer us every time! Last night, everyone feasted excellent centolla (local sea spiders) bartered with local fishermen cons few bottles of wine, and we found a pleasure boat with a friend, Ocean Respect, returning from Antarctica a crew filled, but a little tired of crossing back a bit tricky.

Tomorrow we will spin toward the North, and depending on the wind, will join the Lennox Island, or Puerto Williams, since our goal is Maintenat rising towards the northwest and go see the glaciers! Everybody is fine on board, and we celebrate our passage tonight of the Horn around a good leg of lamb with eggplant!

I'll be back soon to read our walk

Greetings from the Horn

Juliet for the crew of Paradise
