Back in Ushuaia

Sunday, February 27, 2011

Hello everyone!

We are again tied to the dock in Ushuaia Afasyn ... our little village at the end of the world. Our crew have left yesterday morning ... I admit do not be lifted before!

The end of the trip was uneventful, a little windy day what have some feelings, a big hike in Puerto Williams, and finally a superb dinner at Manu in Ushuaia. For

Arnaud and me, the hour is at rest, before tackling this week the inevitable maintenance on board, and host the next week our new crew.

I wish you a great week while waiting at all ... and let you discover the latest pictures!

Difference Between Chemotherapy And Radiation

Tip top! The Cordillera Darwin

Position: 54) 54'S 67 ° 33'W

Hello!

Tip top, I can find no other word to describe our journey since I left you two days ago, when we went up the Northwest Arm of the Beagle in the direction of Pia Fjord. Well we got there in the early evening, we anchored in the sumptuous caleta Beaulieu, where we found our friends from Spirit Team.

Just wet, we rushed to the locker that we had left (caché!) on site six weeks ago, and had the good surprise to find centolla 6, including 4 beautiful enough to delight our crew voracious, for whom the sea spiders seem to be a treat! After dinner, we went drinking with our friends from Team Spirit around a nice fire on the beach.

The next day we headed towards the bottom of the West Branch of Pia, and we landed in the ice for a 5 star lunch at 200m of the glacier ... if not happiness that! We then headed towards the east, and went to anchor in the beautiful caleta Morning, during a trip to new land, and also to retrieve a new record ... full centolla!

Today, the skies are always so lenient with Paradise, and we went up the Beagle to sail gently, and then we hoisted the spinnaker, we had not seen for a long time ... In short, we are really happy since the departure of the cruise, with exceptionally mild conditions to such an extent that from time to time, it's hard to believe!

Let us hope that the last two days cruise will be at the height of the top 10, what ultimately there is no doubt too!
that, I leave you and see you soon!

Hello!

Our journey continues, and the sun stays securely hung above the mast of our beautiful paradise, we offer excellent conditions for exploring the magnificent Cordillera Darwin. Arrived early Saturday evening Yendegaya, we are invited by our friends Jose and go to share Anemia an asado, a chance to finish our last two legs of mutton, and spend an evening like no other in this ranch so far away!

So it was a delight and a memorable event for our crew, who discovered how a couple can live a happy life in countries as remote and a comfort for less Spartan. Sunday morning, we are one exception to all went horseback riding 3 hours across the vast property which our friend Jose is the guardian. Not a cloud in the sky, an amazing warmth to the area, and once again, a real joy to watch this wilderness around us, to observe the hunting dogs, wild horses, raptors, etc..

short, we returned this cavalcade of gray, some galloping, some more cautious not ... Back onboard, we lunched quietly in the sun before setting sail (not too long ago for lack of wind!) Towards Caleta Olla. We again benefited from the superb morning to go a little hike, this time on foot to see more closely at a magnificent glacier that ends in a pretty little lake.

Right now we are heading west, toward our preferred Glacier Pia, we reach perhaps evening, or perhaps not, because the wind that blows from the front does not allow us to move very quickly. In all cases, we will be there tomorrow, and hope that the record that we've left the past month will be full of centolla ...

In the meantime, I wish you all a great start this week and see you soon!

Sun on the Beagle

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Hello!

Time flies for us aboard the Paradise, and I realize that it's been a while since I've not given our news. Do not worry, everything is very well and we just left Puerto Williams again, this time heading west to the spectacular Cordillera Darwin.

The sun is still in the appointment, as every day since we started, what my faith is pretty nice. As always the great unknown remains the weather, always a little temperamental at these latitudes, and never really like the forecasts received. For example, returning to Cape Horn, we waited all day Thursday at anchor as the wind was blowing at more than 35KN. To 18h, the soft breeze, we set sail, regaling us ahead of what promised to be a beautiful night navigation.

Well finally the wind died completely and we had to drive the motor until about 3am, when the wind suddenly rose to 20-30 kn, and justly, battery on our way! Alas, we stopped in a nice anchorage a few hours before returning any perky yesterday morning. After a great day to pull the edges, while we have only a few miles to rally Puerto Williams, the staysail was folded and put away as well, our friend the west wind has once again risen sharply recently joined forces with an opposing current brilliantly ... and reducing our speed a little ridiculous 2kN for a (too?) long time!

Finally, it is also the charm Patagonian ... One never knows very well what sauce it will be eaten, whether or not we will achieve the intended purpose. Navigate here is exciting, because we are constantly on alert. Moreover, while this morning there was no wind, it would seem that a slight breeze rises ... Will we have to tack? Reefing? Mystery. In any case, our goal is Yendegaya first Chilean fjord after the border, and the beautiful Ferrari caleta, we hope to achieve tonight and where we spend the day tomorrow we walk.

I leave you and come back to you with future news, as soon as possible!

Cape Horners Fuegian under the sun! New

Position: 55 ° 49'S 67 ° 17'W

Hello!

We are quietly anchored in Caleta Martial, quiet little anchorage a few miles of the mythical Cape Horn, we just work around the end of the afternoon for a nice breeze. We can say that we are lucky because the weather was perfect today to greet the great Cape.

left early this morning from Puerto Toro, the southernmost village of the world, we sailed under mainsail reefed, staysail and jib a bit, depending on the grain, leaving in our wake quickly Lennox and Navarino islands and prancing merrily in Nassau Bay.

A nice navigation, fast enough for allowing us to do a complete Horn Island, a luxury we can not offer us every time! Last night, everyone feasted excellent centolla (local sea spiders) bartered with local fishermen cons few bottles of wine, and we found a pleasure boat with a friend, Ocean Respect, returning from Antarctica a crew filled, but a little tired of crossing back a bit tricky.

Tomorrow we will spin toward the North, and depending on the wind, will join the Lennox Island, or Puerto Williams, since our goal is Maintenat rising towards the northwest and go see the glaciers! Everybody is fine on board, and we celebrate our passage tonight of the Horn around a good leg of lamb with eggplant!

I'll be back soon to read our walk

Greetings from the Horn

Hello!

Our newly formed crew just set sail from the dock in Ushuaia afasyn, or should I say sailing! Because today it's windy in the Beagle Channel, and therefore we sail under staysail alone, enough to propel us between 6 and 8 kn, as authorized.

Everyone then discovers the boat, and operation of what will be our home-town for 12 days. We got acquainted, we detail the maps, or simply looking at the landscape, which in the corner is quite pleasant. Especially qu'aujourdh'ui, shoot the breeze soon the clouds, leaving sufficient passage for sunlight to illuminate the surrounding mountains.

Ushuaia is gradually disappearing behind us as we are heading east, towards the small port of Puerto Williams, a mandatory stop for all our trips to Cape Horn, since here are the entry requirements to Chile. So we'll start the inevitable parade before the Chilean military, a long wait in the office of the captaincy, before leaving early tomorrow towards the mythical Cape Horn.

The weather looks pretty tough in the coming days, though without being totally negative. We therefore looked forward to the verdict tomorrow to see for ourselves whether or not we can go double this famous course as fast as we want!

In the meantime, I wish you all a great start this week and see you soon for the rest of our trip!

Commercial Cannabis Rolling Machine

Back in Ushuaia, end of a very nice trip to Patagonia

Hello everyone!

Paradise and his crew rallied Friday afternoon, the little dock at Ushuaia, the end of this wonderful journey we have just done. The time was so good-bye to yesterday, when everyone picked his way after 26 days of intense proximity.

Paradise is very quiet, with only Arnaud and I like people, it changes us a little. I guess the scenery will be even harder for the crew who left us, which right now reconnect with reality very different from those we have experienced over the last month in our little microcosm.

Arnaud and attacking me so a week off before returning next week to Cape Horn and the Patagonian channels. Course interrupted by a rest of minor maintenance on board as always ...

I let you treat yourself to the latest photos of our beautiful journey ... you'll see why Antarctica can find superlatives too weak!

Hello!

Well you are done, the great villain Drake is behind us, and we are currently trying to trace the Beagle engine peacefully, lulled by the sun. The crossing took place without stories, and although the window that presented itself was not ideal, we do not ultimately suffered rather contrary winds encountered. For once, the weather forecast proved to be rather fair, so we have not had much stronger winds, which in the corner is quite beneficial.

We stop tonight in Puerto Williams, the opportunity for most of our team to discover the mythical Micalvi, the southernmost yacht club in the world, the amazing story. If all goes as planned, tonight we will be quietly moored along the "pontoon boat", and we can find some familiar faces at the corner of the bar in the wardroom!

So a little end of the trip for us, and a slow return to civilization ... Starting tonight, we will again have access to our cell phones, end up cars, etc. ... it will change us icicles and penguins!

that, I leave you and will monitor our progress on the bridge!

Greetings Patagones,

Juliet for the crew of Paradise
