Hello!
Our newly formed crew just set sail from the dock in Ushuaia afasyn, or should I say sailing! Because today it's windy in the Beagle Channel, and therefore we sail under staysail alone, enough to propel us between 6 and 8 kn, as authorized.
Everyone then discovers the boat, and operation of what will be our home-town for 12 days. We got acquainted, we detail the maps, or simply looking at the landscape, which in the corner is quite pleasant. Especially qu'aujourdh'ui, shoot the breeze soon the clouds, leaving sufficient passage for sunlight to illuminate the surrounding mountains.
Ushuaia is gradually disappearing behind us as we are heading east, towards the small port of Puerto Williams, a mandatory stop for all our trips to Cape Horn, since here are the entry requirements to Chile. So we'll start the inevitable parade before the Chilean military, a long wait in the office of the captaincy, before leaving early tomorrow towards the mythical Cape Horn.
The weather looks pretty tough in the coming days, though without being totally negative. We therefore looked forward to the verdict tomorrow to see for ourselves whether or not we can go double this famous course as fast as we want!
In the meantime, I wish you all a great start this week and see you soon for the rest of our trip!
Southern Greetings,
Juliet for the crew of Paradise
