I recently subscribed to the "Movie Network", the equivalent of Super Screen English. The purpose of subscription was good to listen the new season of "True bood" (By the way Danielle, I saw the first episode and it was great)!
But on this beautiful Thursday evening relaxing, I opened my televison to this post and I noticed the flim "And the Band Played On" was playing. I remember listening to this mini-series on TV during the 90s. So I re-listened to all, with a more mature ear. And let me tell you that I was not disappointed! This film deals with the discovery of AIDS in the U.S. during the 80s and the race (fierce competition between the USA and France) on the development of an anti-virus program against the disease. All based on historical facts. I remember being touched and absorbed by the television series during its first broadcast. Let me tell you that 10 years after the first vision of this film the feeling is always the same, even harder.
I strongly advise you to rent this historical film! It is simply unforgettable! And it deals with a topic yet actul, the first major humanitarian! I can not wait to hear the news we finally find a cure against this terrible disease that affects so many people!
